God Does

Do you ever find yourself waiting?

Waiting to hear His words, His direction. The words you seek most, the words you need most. The words that settle everything. The sound of your Heavenly Father.

I’ve heard people say when you don’t hear God’s voice, it’s probably because you need to rest. I’ve also heard people say you don’t hear His voice because He’s busy working out heavy storms in front of you that we just don’t see yet.

Whatever the reason might be, I still come to meet Him.

Sometimes I find His words look different than the sound of His voice. They look like kindness from a stranger. They sound like a sweet surprise. They sound like a divine compliment. They look like getting through the day without trouble. They look like waking up one more day. They look like hugging your kiddos.

We listen for His words and answers to what we are seeking, and yet, they have always been right in front of us.

Be still, He said. Guard your heart, He said. I know them, He said. Be strong, He said. Lift up your eyes and look up He said. Rise up He said.

In the Bible God tells us over and over and over to look ahead, rise up, don't look back, move forward, in almost every story and situation. Funny how I never noticed that so profoundly until now. That's what I hear Him telling me. After all that waiting I hear Him, "You have stayed long enough at this mountain." So now, I know it's time to Rise.

I pray this for you too. May you hear the words, the sounds and the sweetness of our good good God. Because if you think no one hears you, don't worry, have faith because.....God does!
